The Massachusetts Attorney General is the state’s top law enforcement officer.

As Attorney General I will take an oath to preserve and defend the Constitutions of the United States of America, and of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the laws thereunder.

I pledge to serve and defend the people of Massachusetts and to focus on priorities in our state.

More About Jay McMahon

As a lifelong resident of Cape Cod I bring more than 35 years of combined legal, law enforcement, corporate business management and military experience to this state.

After graduating from the Massachusetts Military Academy, I served as a lieutenant in the Massachusetts Army National Guard Military Police. I also served in local law enforcement on Cape Cod prior to pursuing a degree in business administration at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. I then went on to graduate with a law degree from Suffolk University Law School.

As a small business owner and successful trial lawyer, I litigate cases at every court level including at the state, federal, and before government agencies.

I currently serve as an elected member of the State Committee for the Massachusetts Republican Party. I have served in my community on the Bourne Financial Development Corporation, as the Coordinator of Bourne Youth Baseball, as well as a guest lecturer at area high schools and community colleges.

Married to my wife Shelley for 30 years, I am the proud father of five and grandfather of three. Tragically, my eldest son fell victim to the opioid epidemic in 2008 after sustaining injuries while serving in the U.S. Army during Operation Iraqi Freedom. I share my son Joel’s story to let you know that my policy and promises are near and dear to myself and my family, as they are to many in Massachusetts.

I am running because I believe the Attorney General should enforce the laws and uphold our constitutions, not force extreme political agendas upon us. I am ready to fight for you as your next Attorney General on day one. Vote for an attorney, not a politician.

Listen to Jay speak about the opioid crisis in our Commonwealth and his plan to address it in the below TV ad.

This trailer below, “How to Fix a Drug Scandal”, will give you a glimpse into the corruption that currently exists in the Office of the Attorney General under Maura Healey and will continue if my opponent is elected.

If elected, I will put an end to this corruption by exposing, investigating, and prosecuting illegal activity in our government and state.
